Sinclair Wilson welcomes two new Partners to its ranks

TWO locally-raised and educated Accountants are the newest Partners at South West Victoria’s leading Business and Advisory Group.

Kerrie Hughson and Steven Van Ginneken were admitted as Partners at Sinclair Wilson today, 1 July, joining 18 other Principals at the helm of the two-state, five-office Accounting and Business Advisory Practice.

Both graduates of Deakin University’s Warrnambool-based Commerce degree, Kerrie and Steven maintain that Sinclair Wilson always loomed large in their plans to practice their chosen craft.

“As a student at Deakin, it was the stand out,” Steve recalls. “I contacted them about a job in my first semester of university. It was always where I intended to be once I had completed my studies.”

Similarly, Kerrie had also set her sights on one day calling Sinclair Wilson home, although it was via a two year stint at the Melbourne office of the internationally-renowned firm Deloitte.

“I headed to Melbourne soon after I finished my degree in 1999… but I headed away sure of two things; that one day, I’d return, and it would be to work at Sinclair Wilson.”

Sinclair Wilson John Bouwman said the Group had a deeply-embedded culture of succession, and put years into identifying and cultivating it’s team to best-prepare them for a future as Partner.

“Every new Accountant or Advisor we appoint, we consider them to be a potential partner one day. This rolling progression of Partnership is what makes us one of regional Victoria and South East South Australia’s largest accounting and advisory firms and an employer of choice.”

John said it was an exciting time for Sinclair Wilson to add another two young and enthusiastic Partners to its group of 18 Principals. “We have always embraced the opportunities that come with integrating our Partnership with young, progressive partners to compliment the more experienced leaders; it ensures we keep across new developments and a wide range of client demographics,” he said.

“Kerrie and Steven’s addition as Partners is a reward for their hard work and loyalty. It’s also a boon for their clients, and the wider group, which we know will gain an injection of enthusiasm and a new perspective with these two young professionals now helping lead us.”
