Dairy farmers in Victoria, the Riverina area of NSW, Eastern South Australia and Tasmania have an opportunity to receive up to $20K in grant (not loan) funding from the Farmers’ Fund, a program managed through the Victorian Farmers Federation.
Please see the Farmers’ Fund website for more information on the program.
The funding has to be used for certain expenditures, which does not appear to include hay or grain, however, it extends to pasture improvements (so logically spraying, seed and fertilizer) as well as genetics (logically AI) and water upgrades. Selection of grant recipients by Farmers’ Fund shall be based on farmers demonstrating a strong commitment to the dairy industry and a desire and ability to improve the productivity, profitability and sustainability of their farm.
The funds will be limited and the first round of applications must be made by September 30. The application forms do not seem overly onerous compared to some programs.
Feel free to prepare and lodge yourself, alternatively, Sinclair Wilson can assist with preparation and lodgement for you for a flat fee (if the grant application is successful).
As time is of the essence please don’t hesitate to contact an accountant at Sinclair Wilson to discuss your application.
