Sinclair Wilson Footprint in South East Strengthens

The newly merged Sinclair Wilson Mount Gambier and Ellermans Teams

LEADING GREATER GREEN TRIANGLE FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP SINCLAIR WILSON HAS RECENTLY ADDED TWO NEW LOCAL FACES TO ITS MT GAMBIER OFFICE TEAM – JULIA HOLDMAN AND HAYLEY NEUMANN – AS WELL AS THE MERGER WITH THE ESTABLISHED ACCOUNTING PRACTICE OF ROB ELLERMAN.

Whilst the Sinclair Wilson group has been operating in the Southeast for many years, the group has recently embarked on a strong growth strategy, to set itself up to be able to continue to cater for the needs of clients and expected growth in the Limestone Coast economy over the next decade.

“We moved into modern highly functional premises on the corner of Wehl and Helen Streets a few years ago, which gave us the scope to modernize our work practices and grow, but we have been patient in getting the right people on board for our next move,” explains John Miles, the firm’s resident Principal in Mt Gambier.

“Sinclair Wilson has had quite a strong presence in Mt Gambier for some time, and we have always viewed the region as providing great opportunity for business, farming and industry generally, including our own – and we are now very well placed to become further immersed in that growth and the community”.

With over 130 people spread across its network in the Greater Green Triangle Area – having other offices in Hamilton, Colac, Camperdown and Warrnambool – Sinclair Wilson is one of the 50 largest accounting and professional services firms in Australia.

“With that sort of strength in numbers, we are able to have many different specialists – in diverse areas such as succession planning, business consulting, superannuation, audit and assurance, risk and finance broking, aged care and investment planning including a full stockbroking service via the firm’s Morgans branch – constantly moving around between our various offices, aided by state of the art technology and ongoing high level technical training,“ Miles explains before adding “That level of service and expertise is normally associated with large capital city firms, but in our case, it is accessible via our people who are on the ground and embedded in the community. We understand the regional market and people’s needs, and can reliably and sustainably deliver.”

Julia has a strong background in financial management of larger family businesses and is very focused on business development. “Julia has a very outgoing personality and is a very people orientated person which is a great asset when you are working closely with clients and families to ensure the ongoing success and growth of their business”, Miles said.

Hayley comes to Sinclair Wilson with more than 12 years experience in the accounting industry, ensuring that that the Sinclair Wilson Mount Gambier team is well equipped to be able to handle new work.

Miles adds “it is also very reassuring to have someone with that experience, including local knowledge, to help train and orientate new staff”.

The opportunity to join forces with Rob Ellerman, a well known and respected figure in business and the community in Mount Gambier was not only an ideal fit for Sinclair Wilson, but is a merger that works well for both parties, as Rob explains “Sinclair Wilson is a very highly regarded and comprehensive professional services firm. I viewed them as an appropriate fit for the next phase of my business, as a means of my long established clients being able to access a broader range of specialist services, particularly as the world becomes a more complex place in which to operate. My staff, Sue, Belinda, Daniela and I are quite excited about our move around to Wehl and Helen Streets”.

Such observations and reasoning summarize Sinclair Wilson’s philosophy and business model. As Miles sums up “Rob picked it in one, that is what Sinclair Wilson are about – what we offer as our real point of difference in the region – strength in numbers and expertise, but local understanding, accessibility and accountability, with the work still being done on personalized team basis. The Greater Green Triangle Area has been Sinclair Wilson’s home for 70 years”.
