As an experienced Accountant and Auditor, I am able to view the challenges facing organisations in the not-for-profit and charitable sectors from both sides. I have many years experience in working not only with clients in the Warrnambool area directly in providing Auditing services and assisting in reporting for government funding and grant acquittals, but also bring to the role my personal experience as both a Committee Member and Director with numerous local and regional based not-for-profits and charities over many years.
I am passionate about not only delivering on the statutory or government requirements an organisation has, but in working with Committees, Management and Members to find ways financial systems can be improved…for an outcome that assists the not-for-profit to deliver an enhanced service. Warrnambool is fortunate in having a vibrant and active not-for-profit and charitable sector, which has grown from increasing demand from those needing to access services. Sinclair Wilson and my team of talented auditors in Warrnambool are passionate about our not-for-profit clients who include those in the disability, aged care, indigenous, health, sport, philanthropic, education, domestic violence, training, and industry sectors.
There have been many changes in the not-for-profit sector over recent years; including the establishment of the Australian Charities & Not for Profits Commission (ACNC) and the Association Incorporation Reform Act (2012). And of course the not-for-profit sector faces the daily challenge of delivering effective, relevant and timely services to their clients whilst balancing the budget and meeting the requirements of government, the ACNC, ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission), ATO (Australian Taxation Office) or Consumer Affairs.
My Audit and Assurance team can help if you require Auditors, but if you don’t, we can provide assistance with your financial reporting, establishment of systems or processes, budgeting and liaison with government departments, in Warrnambool and the Western District.
