Melissa is an Accountant in our Hamilton office. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
Born, raised and educated locally (at Macarthur Primary School, then Good Shepherd College Hamilton), Melissa had a brief stint living away from the Southern Grampians region while studying for and establishing her Accounting career, but returned to the region as soon as the opportunity arose, where she has continued to contribute to the area she calls home.
Commencing university in 2010, at Deakin University’s Warrnambool Campus, Melissa joined Sinclair Wilson in November 2011, once she had completed her Commerce degree, with an Accounting and Financial Planning Major.
Initially working in the Warrnambool office, Melissa returned to Hamilton in 2013 to be based at the Group’s busy Hamilton office, where she continues to work with clients from across the Southern Grampians region and beyond in tax preparation and tax planning.
Melissa brings first-hand knowledge of agriculture and business to her role as an Advisor with Sinclair Wilson; she was raised on her parents Corriedale stud, and, in year 12 even ran her own pig enterprise as part of her VCE Agriculture studies.
Today, she and husband Andrew run fat lambs on their property just outside Hamilton.
A passion for client relationships and enjoying the ongoing challenge of legislative and policy changes is what drives this young Accountant; “I’m inspired by the clients I work with, and the difference it makes when we can help them with something as crucial as their business and taxes.”
In addition to her work with Sinclair Wilson, this mother-of-one has contributed much to her local community, via her committee membership on the Hamilton Region Business Association, as a current CFA member and as a past secretary of the Yulecart Show.
Melissa also enjoys following harness racing (even owning a couple of trotters) watching netball and time in her garden
